If you offer a product or service in your business that there is no way around it you need an updated headshot. Yes I completely get it, I had having my picture taken too - LOL coming from a photographer. I prefer to be behind the lens - I'm working on it and becoming more comfortable.
But the reality is people will typically look you up online before they will do business with you. It's important that your real personality shows through your headshots. If you are a happy and welcoming person that should shine through your portraits. You want people to already feel comfortable with you before they meet you for the first time face to face.
These ladies are from a recent headshot session I did for their hair salon - they are all so gorgeous and such a lively and fun group. We just made it into a fun event for them. We were able to get some beautiful group shots as well as individuals.
It's very important to try several different angles etc to find the one that you like the most, something you feel comfortable but also let's people see your real smile and personality. Be sure to pick outfits that will compliment your eyes and skin tone! Long gone are those stiff headshots with just a white shirt and black jacket - if you are a lawyer and want your vibe to be stiff then go for it. But if you are a fun and vibrant person that needs to shine through in your headshots!!
